Professional Year Program
A Professional Year Program is a well-structured professional development program consisting of formal and professional learning mostly suited for overseas students who graduated from Australian Universities. Professional Year Programs run for 12 months and are currently available in the fields of Accounting, Information and Computer Science and Engineering. It allows students to develop industry-specific skills through study and work experience, preparing them for professional careers in the Australian workforce.

Professional Year in Accounting:
Accounting Professional Year Program was developed by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, CPA Australia and the Institute of Public Accountants. PYP is delivered by registered providers who have been approved by the three professional accounting bodies.
Eligibility Criteria:
Completed a recognized Accounting Degree (Bachelor’s/Master’s) in Australia that provides a minimum of two Years credit points. The course must be completed over a minimum of 18 months.
Obtained or applied for a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) with minimum 12 months’ validity.
IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with band less than 6.0 or a minimum score of 50 in PTE academics across all bands.
A Migration Skills Assessment (or evidence of the application thereof) from a Professional Accounting Association.

Professional Year in Information and Computer Science:
Professional Year Program in Information and Computer Science, also known as ACS PY, is developed by Australian Computer Society (ACS) to give ICT graduates a platform to develop skills and training allowing a guided pathway from University to Employment in Australia.
There are two IELTS tests available:
Completed a recognized IT Degree in Australia that provides a minimum of two years Credit points. This must be completed over a minimum of 18 months
Obtained or applied for a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) with minimum 12 months’ validity.
A current IELTS score of 6.0 overall and no band less than 5.0 or a minimum score of 50 in PTE, with a minimum of 36 across all bands.


Professional Year in Engineering:
Professional Year Program in Engineering was introduced by Engineering Education Australia (EEA) to equip international engineering graduates, from Australian universities, the skills and experience needed to kick start a successful career. The program consists of training and an engineering internship placement to provide a pathway from study to employment in Australia.
Eligibility Criteria:
Completed a recognized Engineering Degree in Australia that provides a minimum of two years Credit points. This must be completed over a minimum of 18 months
Obtained or applied for a Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485) with minimum 12 months’ validity.
A current IELTS score of 6.0 overall and no band less than 5.0 or a minimum score of 50 in PTE, with a minimum of 36 across all bands.
